It’s obvious I have not been scrapbooking for quite a while … obvious from the lack of posts. Today was the first day I have been to a crop in months and literally the first time I have scrapped in months as well.
These pictures are so difficult to scrapbook. My mom passed away over 12 years ago, but these pictures and thinking about her garden, how much she enjoyed gardening, and how much I miss her made me cry. I do have lots of photos of her to scrapbook and even though I’m sad she isn’t here anymore, thinking about her makes me smile. I’m happy to be working on her album.
If you can, please hug your mom and tell her how much you love her. She won’t always be there.
This was a small garden my mom had at her retirement apartment. Every year, she won the prize for the most beautiful garden.
The papers and embellishments I used in these layouts are from an old Basic Grey collection called Marjolaine.
The font in the first layout is Grand Hotel. I created the text sentiment “Beautifying the area” in SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot), exported the sentiment as an SVG file and then uploaded the file into Cricut Design Space.
To create the scalloped background, I inserted a square basic shape in Cricut Design Space and then I searched for a scalloped border. I made both pieces the same width and then aligned the two pieces to the left. After that, I welded them together and cut the piece out with my Cricut Explore Air.
